I always expect the men I come in contact with to ask me out, to want more of me, I'm addictive like that, and all the men I've had crushes on have wanted me too, so I just make my pick. You might say that I'm too confident, maybe even think I feel too pretty but its non of that, they've always asked me out, and if something always happens, it builds a pattern, a pattern you grow to expect and so did I, plus my theory is yet to fail so... 
I had taken a year off the music scene because my boyfriend at the time said I should, I wonder why I ever gave another person such a major say in my life. Anyways, the break year was over, it was time to launch a 'come-back' so I write a song, got the instruments from the producer and then it happened, it came to me, I would feature two of the towns rappers, it was perfect, they had never been on a song together, they had a Russia vs USA cold war level of tension going on, their styles were different and it will be good for my ego, everyone will talk about it, just what I needed for my big 'COME BACK'. I had never spoken to any of them and didn't know them one on one but I was me, and they were men, I knew I could pull it off clean. I got on the phone with Ali (never mind how I got his number)
"Hey, its Joleeta"
"Oh wow, what a surprise" he answer, awe in his piercing voice.
"I got your number from XYZ, I hope you don't mind" I say, deliberately softening my voice.
"no I don't mind, uh, whats up" he's gathering himself together.
"I need a favor from you, I've got this track Id like for you to jump on, Elite would be on it too, me you and him"
I shoot my bullet
"You me and Elite, uhmmm...okay, send me the beat, I usually don't do this kind of favor but I cant resist being on a track with you so, Im in"
He sounds rather tender, I love it when tough men sound tender
"Awesome, Ill send it to you on BBM"
We round up with some formalities and called Elite too, told him the exact same thing and he was game, wow. I wasn't surprised, just delighted, you cant be surprised when you expect something.

Its voicing day and Im waiting by the road for Ali. he drops from the taxi, oh my goodness, he's all dressed up and the effort paid off, this the first time I'm seeing him, he looks good but Im concerned about his pepper red sneakers. We head up, he voiced his part and we just, chat. I get a call from Elite, he comes upstair to the studio and they greet each other like men do. Elite went straight for the hug, I was going for the handshake but I hugged him, and I felt something, he feels more calm and honest.

"You be powerful woman o, see as you call men come studio under 24 hours" he says in his signature pidgin english style. I'm blushing, I knew what I was doing but its never pleasing for the prey to figure out the predator is a predator, it makes the prey too guarded.
"I thought it would be good to have the top two on my song, think of it as a musical threesome"
What do I just say, why did i say that.
They all look at me, it seems what I said sparked a flame of desire in them, both of them, It wasn't what I was gunning for but it was already out there. I'm a very good girl with wild imaginations, plus I'm a notorious flirt, you have to understand, saying these things to men is natural to me. Ali bows his head and chuckles, Elite is devouring me with his eyes.
"But after the musical threesome I'd want you all to myself" Ali says, as he raises his squinted eyes, glaring straight at me. Elite looks at him sharply, like a wolf who's vixen was being seduced by another man. I laugh a little, was a staring up a beef. Elite says he wants to leave, I walk him downstairs

"I go really wan see you again" he's tenderly holding my hand and fondling my fingers. I'm drawn to his innocence and sincerity.
"Uhm...when?" I ask
"tomorrow, get lecture from 2-4pm"
"Me too"
"I go call you"
"Okay"
See, I told you men always ask me out.

Elite left, his eyes are that of a man on a mission. I walk Ali to the taxi. Later at night he sends me a message, he also wants to see me by 4 tomorrow. Two men, one Joleeta, same time tomorrow Wow, have the hunger games begun?
You can't be surprised when you expect something to happen, I wasn't surprised, just delighted.

Its been quite a while since my fans got a new track from me, but that's about to change because the sensational universal love song "Sugar" will be on major music stores by 1st January.

SOCIAL MEDIA ENVY & DEPRESSION. COME OUT WHILE YOU CAN. HOW TO COME OUT.

A little dose of Instagram, Facebook, or Snapchat, and we see the creamy, superficial images of our friends, classmates and adored celebrities, then the green-eyed monster, jealousy starts raising it's ugly head, making us feel like a piece of sh*t. I personally have suffered a good measure of pain from comparing my life to people that are half the globe away from me, especially seeing how hard I work and how they have what I want, it's definitely taken me backwards, I managed to overcome it though, and you can too, here's the saving grace list.
1.  Quit seeking more to compare about.
 If we're being honest with ourselves, we know precisely the type of pictures and videos that stir up that ugly feeling within us, the best thing to do is to quit going for those posts and those accounts, it's definitely best to stay away from what will hurt you even more, instead of using your data to get more to make you depressed, just do yourself a favour and quit it already.
2. REMEMBER THE FILTER FACTOR.
  Seth has called the internet "the envy amplifier" and that's very correct. When we see other people's glamorous, happy, perfect pictures on social media, (celebrities and friends included), what we don't see (because they don't post such), is that they deliberately handpick the specific pictures they post out of hundreds of others, choosing the ones that portray them the most happy, wealthy and beautiful, .I do that, you do that, so what makes you think that other's don't do this too? So before even using the smoothening/beautifying filters on most of the social media apps, they filter the ones they want you to see and hide the less glorifying candid shots. People's lives are really not as glam as they portray them to be, so don't let the little filter trick steal your joy okay? Great
3. Don't compare your behind the scenes with other people's highlights. With the filter factor we talked about, its clear that we are not seeing the real picture or even the whole picture. When was the last time you saw someone's picture of them just waking up from sleep with their squeezed face and red eyes? You hardly see a picture of someone fighting with their spouse, all you see are sucked in stomachs, pouted lips, and well planned out happy shots, so you shouldn't compare your reality to their highlights. Just see those posts for what they are if you must even see them
4. Turn envy into action. When something stires up envy within us, it's not much about that thing but it's about us, it affects us because there's something latent in us that seeks to be expressed, we look at what others have and we wonder if we would ever have that, we get jealous because it's what we want. The truth however is that we can have whatever another person has, no matter how huge it may seem to us, it's however not a good reason to want something just because someone else has it, if we keep doing that we'll get lost in the mix and we'll be living another person's life. The thing to do is to use the envy as motivation and a definite sign of possibility. The fact that someone has something means that you can have it too, period! Instead of wallowing in anguish, charge your powerful brain to come up with creative ideas and means of getting where you wish to go.
5. Focus on yourself and your goals. Enough about others already, let's talk about you! Don't you think you deserve the same dose of attention that you give other people's lives? Channel that attention to you and your goals, you are your primary assignment here on earth, hype yourself, praise and bless yourself, admire yourself and use all that social media time to think about and work on your own goals, because you see, the best contribution you can offer us here is to be the happiest, richest, healthiest you that you can be, and wasting away your precious time online doesn't get you closer to your goals. Use the data to research ways to make your dreams come true and search for only empowering and motivating content inline.
